Service Overview
Our society is facing a climate crisis. According to the *IPCC's "Special Report on Land," roughly one-quarter of the greenhouse gases emitted worldwide originate from "agriculture, forestry, and other land uses." Furthermore, our dietary habits are heavily reliant on flora and fauna, significantly impacting biodiversity through the ways in which food is produced and supplied.
At NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting Inc. , recognizing the importance of "food" in sustainability, we approach sustainable food and agriculture through research, policy formulation, visualization, and other means to drive behavioral change and shape public opinion. We are committed to bridging the gap between global opinion formation and local-level practices, fostering a sustainable approach to food and agriculture.

Consulting Approach
<Research & Policy Formulation>
Since the adoption of the SDGs, NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting Inc. has focused on "Sustainable Production and Consumption". We implement strategies for incorporating SDGs perspectives into production and business creation in food, agriculture, and rural areas.
Furthermore, we support the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in food and agricultural sectors through various research and policy formulation efforts, contributing to national strategic planning in this domain.
<Promoting Sustainable Production and Consumption in Food and Agriculture>
In May 2021, the government formulated the Green Food System Strategy, followed by the establishment and enforcement of the Green Food System Law in April and July 2022, respectively. One of the anticipated roles in enhancing sustainability in food and agriculture is the spread of "sustainable consumption."
NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting Inc. actively participates in various actions promoting "sustainable consumption" led by corporations and municipalities, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Consumer Affairs Agency, and the Ministry of the Environment's "Afu-no-Wa Project." We engage in activities that link behavioral changes in consumers with the enhancement of sustainability for both the planet and society.
<Visualization to Encourage Behavioral Change>
One key initiative to promote "smart choices" among consumers and businesses is making environmental considerations visible.
At NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting Inc., we advance activities at both national and regional levels, including research on the application of various certification systems and visualization of CO2 reduction in the food and agriculture sector.
