NTT DATA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT CONSULTING, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Shigeki Yamaguchi; hereinafter referred to as "NTTDIOMC") has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Singapore Management University (hereinafter referred to as "SMU") on November 8th, 2024 to establish a strategic partnership aimed at deepening the understanding and practice of digital transformation (DX) management in the APAC region.
【 Background and Content of the Agreement 】
SMU was established in 2000 with funding from the Singapore government, modeled after the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a world-class business school, with the goal of producing outstanding leaders and creative entrepreneurs capable of responding to a rapidly changing world. As a leading business, management, and social sciences university and research institution in Asia, SMU has rapidly increased its presence in recent years by strengthening strategic connections with businesses, governments, and society.
Through this MOU, NTTDIOMC and SMU aim to enhance understanding and practice of the management transformations brought about by DX in the APAC region. SMU will contribute knowledge on cutting-edge DX management initiatives and theoretical frameworks drawn from on Singapore and ASEAN countries, while NTTDIOMC will bring broad experiences and insights from DX consulting in Japan. This collaboration aims to provide Japanese companies with extensive insights, theories, and frameworks of DX management, supporting the acceleration of DX initiatives.
With this agreement, NTTDIOMC will identify opportunities for joint research with the university, host business and networking events in both countries, and support internships and research missions for SMU students in Japan. Additionally, SMU seek to assist NTTDIOMC's consultants in understanding business and government activities in Singapore and the ASEAN region, develop training programs for Japanese professionals, and support the development of startup talent in both countries.
