【Key Points】

・Launch of SIA Japan/Denmark, an international consortium consisting of companies and public organizations in both Japan and Demark.

・Seeking partners to implement the vision of‘ the Digital Garden City’ drawing inspiration from  Danish initiatives. We aim to apply Denmark’ innovative approaches to Japan and present Japan’s digital technology to Denmark,

【Background】

Japan has positioned the acceleration of digital transformation (DX) and green transformation (GX) as a pillar of its national strategy*1 and is now trying to rapidly and intensively promote the formation of a sustainable and digital society in order to strengthen Japan's international competitiveness, and deal with the rapid declining birthrate and aging society, etc.*2.

Denmark is ranked first in the world in digital competitiveness*3; first in the global ranking of e-government development*4; first in the world prosperity index*5; first in the overall ranking of global competitiveness (GII)*6; and second in the world in happiness*7. Not in terms of technology precedence, but in terms of results in international competitiveness and national well-being, Denmark can be considered as one of the countries that embody the ideal digital society formation that our country is aiming for.

Moreover, Denmark ranks first out of 157 member countries in terms of global SDG target achievement and is known as a leading country in terms of sustainability. Thus, we believe that collaboration and co-creation of SIA with Denmark is important to promote the formation of a digital society in Japan and to establish a global standard for value creation methods in Japan.
